Why do 360 and ps3 owners consider pc gamers as a joke?
-
-
they are jelous that the games for pc are a lot cheaper than console games
-
But our comps cost over 5x more lol
-
-
because they look at us as loosers for spending so much on gaming when they spend so little... basically they're jealous... and are loosers...
-
I think alot of it has to do with the fact that console-gamers feel like it's harder to make friends online and play with them.
xbox360 and gamertags, and ps3 and its users have a easy ways just to add someone (and one can argue that with steam and xfire its just as easy) but these console services really do make it easier. And because the cost of entry into the console world at the beginning is much much lower than PC, there are thousands of more people to meet online than the same old people that you see in the same PC servers all the time.
And that's just the multiplayer aspect of it all.
Console gamers hate PC games because honestly....some games are meant to play on a controller....not a keyboard and mouse. Batman AA, Resident Evil 5, SF4....horrible games to play on a keyboard (but one can argue that SF4 is hard on a controller as well), it sucks playing with a mouse. RE5...the controls feel so akward to move and aim, but it flows much better on a controller.
And lastly...Console gamers feel like its a more fair game when playing with other console gamers because the hardware is the system (minus the television they're using) whereas, someone playing with max pc hardware @ 120fps on Counter Strike can 9/10 trounce someone with mediocre pc hardware @ 30fps. Someone with the top of the line PC can see further, and see better details, and has shadows/lighting in their favor, they will have a better advantage. Console gamers all have the same optimized graphics, and minus the size of their television, will generally have the same playing field.
P.S, its considered that PC gamers are more manly, and attract more women (this is really most important consensus on why console gamers hate pc gaming) -
>.> not sure about the whole controller vs keyboard comparison a few people I know actually have bought adapters for their 360's so that they could use a mouse and keyboard. Pretty crazy to do that though, the thing cost like 100$ and brings the price of a 360 to close to the price of a decent desktop.
The price difference argument makes more sense, but if publishers start following infinity ward then it may not hold up. -
Thats nonsense guys
Its simple, we spend at least 1000$ for a decent mid-range PC, while they spend a few hundreds for all the gear they need and games for a year. But everybody knows that a true gamer plays on a computer, by far a lot more possibilities and better graphics.
Also lets face it, the games industry falls because of PC users who are using cracked games, and there are thousands and thousands of people who are doing so, including me in some cases, so that's also a reason why they hate us, to play a game they need to buy it, but some of us can easily play a cracked version.

Actually, it's just because people don't like others that are different than themselves. PC gamers rag on console gamers just as much as the other way around. I would get into a big spiel about how we should all get along, and we wouldn't have wars, and blah blah blah, but you guys are different so you all suck.
-
You can mod games on the PC. I don't think you can do that on a console. Some game producers even have mod sdk tools and/or map-making tools for the community. Consoles you don't. Once I grow tired of the game, I usually download mods to enhance the fun factor thus better replayibility. With consoles you're stuck with what you have and can't change anything about it.
-
Most people I know that say consoles are better usually just say PC is nothing but a bunch of people hacking and using glitches. One friend says that a lot when I tell him I don't want to buy a 360, then I go to his house one day and play COD:WAW , him and at least half of the players were using a map glitch.
Some people have also told me that it isn't fair on PC because the enemy can just turn around and shoot quickly and aim faster. These few people have also said that there is no aim assist on their 360. -
I mostly game on the console but I also enjoy gaming on the PC (COD MW2 for example). It's gaming either way, we all like games, we all like beating the out of eachother online, they offer different experiences I don't see what the problem is. If you can game on the PC and have the money to put into it than that's cool, it's a different and sometimes better experience than on the 360 or PS3. If you can't, cool, buy a console and enjoy a worry free gaming existence. They are all god damn video games.
-
Um, WE, as mobile gamer, pay tons of money, but the average desktop PC gamer can build a very strong rig for $500, or maybe less.
I find PC vs consoles very juvenile, so it's best to just not get involved in those types of discussions. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
With the price difference, one thing to consider is that a lot of people need a computer, and usually end up buying one that would otherwise be perfectly capable of playing any modern game well on high settings (better than the consoles!), and just needs a $100 graphics card. And then, the games are cheaper, and they are generally yours to keep forever. Which means they will run on your next computer, although they only *might* run on the nextBox.
Now, for those who buy budget smallish laptops, the story kind of changes. It might be more economical to do that and get a console than to try and upgrade to a gaming laptop, because you have size and weight issues along with price consideration.
So when you compare costs, that is something to think about. -
-
-
We'd kick their butts, thats why!
-
not to mention if you have the know how, you can play all those games as well on a pc. At least up to last gen console games.
-
Many of my friends on consoles ask why they can't let pc and 360 play together on live with games like MW2. My answer is that we simply have faster reaction times due to mouse and keyboard and it would be unfair
-
console gamers hate us because we are superior.
-
well, many of us consider us PC gamers to be superior and console gamers are all immature kids, and i think many of us are actually jealous of them getting the better treatment from developers/publishers. so obviously they would resent us for that.
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
It's called ignorance and fanboyism with a hint of elitism as a result of insecurity. It goes the other way too. PC gamers rag on consoles a lot. But it is often because PC gamers are given poor step children of games developed for consoles.
-
Console-only "gamers" are often just stupid casual "gamers".
Ignore them. -
I dunno. Consoles can only play FPS and sports games really, other genres not really well. I can play RTS, and flight and driving sims on my PC, have add-on content, and get improved performance with a driver update. Consoles have the same hardware, and substandard controllers for the most part. Plus my notebook is very portable and easy to LAN. Try lugging around a PS3 or Xbox 360 and a TV.
"Console gamers" just don't want to spend the time or money or get educated on using a PC for gaming. So unfortunately the PC suffers from the least common denominator syndrome, and we all suffer from the crappy ports. -
i think that if console gamers put some effort into their thinking, they could have bought a gaming computer instead of that ty PC and a console. think about it. 500 quid pc + xbox 360 = around 800 quid. for that you could get a quad core and a 9800 gt, 4 gig of ram.
i think people look down on PC gamers because they spend so much keeping it up to date. a computer that is 3 years old can no longer play new games on high settings, whereas their xbox looks the same.
if i didnt own a computer i would put some reseach into what i needed to play games then spend 800 on a decent spec comp that 500 on a e laptop and 250-300 on a console.
unfortunately my mother influenced my choice of laptop, so i got a 2.26ghz processor and a 9200gs instead of a 2.53 and a 9600gt for the same price. now i need to buy a console to play games since this thing sucks (read:18fps on dirt 2 at minimum settings and minimum res) -

Seriously though, I guess I'm not really enough in the gaming world to feel the heat, because I've played games on PC, Xbox, and PS3, and the only prejudice I've noticed is that I'm better on PC.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Well, the old forum I used to frequent, had both console section and a PC section. One particular thing that I noticed though was a few of the console gamers referred to PC gamers as being on a high horse. It was almost as if the console gamers thought of the PC gamers as thinking they were better than everyone else. Now I know that generally that isn't true, but admittedly there are some PC gamers who just think they are better than the consolers.
-
Agreed, there is always that side to the argument.
Wish IW or someone would have a torney, ps3 + xbox v pc in a modern warfare face off! would be maddening!. (although them dam botters on pcs side, they should just stop lol.) -
PC gamers do think they're better because they are the 'enthusiast' gamers, and console gamers are 'casual' gamers.
PC gamers build a fast car, console gamers lease a fast car. -
Console players hate PC players? you mean the few people posting in forums? because its news to me, who are those pc haters? where do "they" come from? some random .com? most people I know really don't care much.
-
I only see 2 pages of console gamer haters
-
i think its that PC gamers boast about how much they have spent on their "rig" to play the latest games maxxed out. people pay upwards of £1500 to play a game at max settings. console gamers can pay £110 for a console which plays it with the equivolent details of medium/high, with a couple of ultras.
-
PC's can play at resolution up to 2560 x 1600 and beyond, while consoles are pretty much limited to 1280 x 720 upscaled, with some rare exceptions.
Consoles do not have AA. they use a lot of blur to make up for this.
Consoles are generally low settings. Eg: MW2 on PS3 and 360 has absolutely no specular map at all. -
One of the stupidest quotes i have ever heard from a console fanboy was:
"PC = poor mans console"
Lol. -
haha yeah i've heard console gamers say we are jealous of them because "we cant afford a console"...
-
Yeah, I really wish I could afford a $300 Xbox or PS3...too bad. I guess I'll cry myself to sleep, regretting my PC forever being a badge of my poverty...with its mere $250 graphics card, and lowly $140 CPU, and pathetic $120 of input devices...
-
-
pc gaming is cheaper now. a cheap dual core cpu and a hd4670 will run circles around a x360. a computer like that would cost about 350 us dollars. 360 was powerful when it came out, but that was some time ago.
back to topic, perhaps the wow nerds are to blame. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
I think PC gamers are actually looked bad on because other PC Gamers. Especially as of recently for the following reasons:
1. Nagging on lack of dedicated servers on MW2
2. Refusing to buy Left 4 Dead 2
3. Not buying games because of DRM (Ok, this i actually agree with)
I think this makes people think PC gamers are whiny, that is all. -
-
They hate cause they suck major *** when it comes to playing games (I.E: FPS's) on the PC.
So because they suck at it, they decided to hate it, and bash on the PC players.
Now if there was some way for console players to still play on the console, but over a network, play against someone who has a PC/Keyboard/Mouse, I bet anyone money they would get their but's handed to them so quick it would make there emo heads spin.
And like 8/10 people who play consoles are ages 12-18 who, as we all know, think they are better than everyone else. Not in 1v1's their not, lol. -
I don't really understand where you get the idea that console gamers hate pc gamers. If there is any hate at all, which probably exists between 12-18 year olds, it exists just as much between the consoles aswell. Every console has its advantages and disatvantages, just like pc gaming.
Also the fact that console gaming is cheaper is no longer valid, if you want to enjoy decent graphics you need a HD tv. Untill recently those things still costed over a 1000, luckely they droped to like 650 with al those new led tv's.
Still, a 300€ ps3 + a 600-700€ tv is still a lot of money.
If there are any misdjugdements about pc gamers its thanks to those addicted mmorpg gamers who don't go to sleep and die of heart attacks, or crazy nutcases who say they play counterstrike (like so many ohters do) after they got caught doing a crime, which places the entire gaming community in a bad light.
I myself enjoy the best of all words. There's nothing like a good final fantasy or action adventure game on a playstation, a good shooter on a computer, a surprising zelda game on the nintendo ds or gamecube/wii, and so on. -
Brisbane's NP8690 = $3000+ AUD :O
But to be honest, I never in my life heard any console gamers flaming PC gamers. And IMHO, PC gaming has been around way longer than console gaming with PC gaming setting the standards of today's cutting edge tech.
Most people I know have both PC and consoles together... -
COnsoles for JRPG and Tekken, PC for everything else!
-
I never heard that PC gamers were hated on until now...
-
-
People in this forum are INCREDIBLY easy to troll on.
If you still don't get it then OP just started this thread to see how ignorant and stupid (only) PC-gamers really are. You guys actually believe console gamers "hate" you. Then you start thinking up ridiculous reasons what the reasons could be and then you post here to flame on them.
Well played OP, well played.
The rest of you should be ashamed of yourselves. -
Why are pc gamers hated on?
