I don't see the use of controllers in FPS. I find it more suitable for racing, arcade fighting, and some rpgs out there.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Kindoms of Amalur both screamed for an Xbox controller. Just screamed for it.

Honestly apart from sports (including racing) games, there is nothing where I would prefer with a controller. Maybe Madden if ever re-released for PC might be the one sports game where a keyboard+mouse is better - imagine being able to DRAW pinpoint routes and audibles on your screen with the mouse and then executing the play.Hopefully one day I can see a modern NFL game on PC.
Fighting games are better played with an arcade stick (which I bought) and I find as awkward on a controller compared to a keyboard.
Pretty much any game requiring precision aiming is poor with a controller, hence why all the console fps's have some form of auto-aim. And I couldn't even imagine playing an RTS with an controller -

The mouse is a pointing device, gamepads have analog sticks which provide smooth sustained input. For games that depend on these kinds inputs, the respective devices are better.
Mice are much better for aiming crosshairs, point and click adventure games, and precision pointing in general.
Gamepads are better for racing games or flying games (both require smooth sustained input), and also for things like moving a character around at a controlled speed. Gamepads also have the benefit of being held in the hand versus resting on a flat surface, so they are more portable (they can be used comfortably on a couch, for example).
Both device have some trade offs. -
I have a Razer Onza that I use for Assassin's Creed, Arkham City, Kingdoms of Amalur, Darksiders II, and basically any other 3rd person action game.

I'm so out of touch. I didn't even realize Halo 4 was coming out until after I came across this thread. I read it and started playing Halo Reach again and then later found out about Halo 4. Sixty dollars later and an entire holiday weekend gone I curse all of you! Damn you NBR! All kidding aside, it's a great game and it's a shame it's not offered for the PC as well. You'd think that a company that was formed by Microsoft with the singular purpose of creating the latest Halo game would also include a PC version. Not only did this take several years, which should have been long enough to include a PC version, but it's made by Microsoft, which is a major, if not the biggest, player in PCs. Yes, I know that the Xbox is a Microsoft product, but including a PC version would create many more sales. Some people have only PlayStation 3,Wii, or Xbox. Even fewer have a combination of the two and even fewer have them all. However, many, many people have PCs (like a huge number), so why wouldn't there be a PC version?
Why aren't there any Halo copycats?
