Why can't I run Wolfenstein New Order?

I definitely have the minimum requirements and al the latest drivers. But my P170EM with AMD 7970M cannot run this game properly. I have everything on lowest other than my resolution and my computer is struggling at 25-30 fps. The textures also takes ages to load so when I turn my camera everything just looks kinda blobby. Basically unplayable for an FPS experience. Is Wolfenstein just not optimized for AMD? I guess there's no point trying Old Blood either?

    Anything I can do?

    Thanks

What CPU is that? I would imagine some iteration of an i7 if it's a P170EM.. What resolution are you running it at?

EDIT: according to this, you should have zero problems. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Wolfenstein-The-New-Order-Benchmarked.117563.0.html

Run some monitoring software while playing it to see if you're throttling for some reason. This is the only game giving you issues? I played it at 1600x900 with many details turned to some higher levels with zero issues. The 7970M isn't that much slower so I wouldn't expect you would have a problem. I will say one thing, idTech5 LOVES fast IO, an SSD does wonders for it's texture streaming, but that's really just pop-in, the game should still run at a high framerate.

Make sure the AMD dedicated GPU is being used and not the Intel and power plan is set to maximum performance.

Should run better than that. Texture loading when turning is an annoying part of that game engine, but it should just be barely noticeable.

Yeah should run a lot better on your laptop.

I can run it on my 5 year old hp envy at 1600x900 with AMD 5830M.

You are talking about New Order and not Old Blood, right? I believe Old Blood has some more demanding effects.

Mess around with the vsync options, this game can be running at 60fps and feel like its running at 15

Again, check that the AMD GPU is selected in switchable graphics. Sounds like that is the case here.

My guess is you have a "demo" version of the game (obtained from torrent network), which has a Bitcoin mining software embedded in it. :)
