I've got an M1530 with the 8600M GT DDR3 card, and I'm running the 179.14 drivers. They normally work fine, games run smoothly without more than an occasional crash. I also use rivatuner to overclock my gpu, and it typically works well except occasionally (once every couple months) I'll notice that while asleep, the computer will restart itself and then when I try to overclock the card, I can no longer enable overclocking in Rivatuner. If I reinstall the drivers, the problem is corrected, but why is this occurring?
