Crysis 2 is a good game that is not scary. F***ing epic would be the words I would use to describe it.

Tranq Lane was creepy, but I wasn't really scared.

The Dunwich Building was the scariest part of the game for me, but I never finished the whole game.

Yeah the campaign did have the sense of epic scale over it. It was a quite nice game indeed!

The only game that actually "scared" me, was Amnesia. But that could be because I was playing it at like 3am with all the lights off heh

The Penumbra series was pretty intense and had it's moments, as well as Amnesia. Doom3 made me jump several times. Thief 3 had a level, enter the cradle that has some very good atmosphere, and a lot of gamers agree its one of the most atmospheric levels in gaming history.

I've been wanting to play a game that scares the sh.. (err I mean) crap outta me lol... I've played FEAR but it's not that scary...

And the games that the OP posted... they weren't that all scary. :/

Could it be that I don't get scared that easily? unno. lol

Thief has been a game that I've been interested in buying for quite awhile now. It's actually at the top of my wish list currently. Is it worth the $13 it costs? Or would I be better off waiting til it goes down a bit?

System Shock 2 had it's moments. Hopefully GOG.com will re-release it now that they've signed a deal with EA. :)

Nope but Dead Space seem to be the least scariest to me. I am very afraid of the Russian atmosphere and nuclear wasteland.

I finish Dead Space 1, nice graphic and was a blast to play. I kind of laugh when those alien broke through the wall, cause I knew that there was really no place to hide in that game. It felt like I was more of a predator than a prey, at least that was my mindset going into the game.

However games like Metro 2033 and Stalker series seem very scary, cause I research a lot on the Cheryobyle (spell wrong) incident and I had nightmare from reading eyewitness account, and all those explicit image. The aftermath of a nuclear explosion is the scariest place on earth, place a ghost town.

Heh i also know alot about Chernobyl and have played Stalker SoC and CoP and those are also scary game, i have also played metro 2033 (which i find very very fascinating since it is based around a real idea. which is that under the cold war the russians expected a nuclear apocalypse and therefore built a underground metro that could holster 100000 plus people (not sure about the numbers) when it broke out. that is also what dmitry glukhovsky based his novels on) and that was one of the best games i have played, though it was not that scary. Id have to say that Dead space is the most scary game of those IMO.

Yes I know and it ironic that it my least scariest. I think it had to do with my mindset, if I go into a game already knowing it a scary game, it ease my fear by a lot. I remember playing Timesplitter 2 for the Ps2 and it scare the out of me. I didn't expect there to be any horror aspect to it and when I met those ghost reaper, I my pants, I kid you not. Well I didn't my pant but I got scare enough that I didn't even bother finishing the game.

That is why I got scare of Fallout 3: I didn't know what to expect and when I met the Feral Ghoul, I was so scare!

Still say Timesplitter 2 ( I still won't be able to finish that game today) and the early Resident Evil games on PS1 for me. And those Japanese Silent Hill type games scare me as well.

Also Ominusha 2 for the Xbox scare me cause the control stink. Otherwise most game scare me but Dead Space is not one of them which confuses me even more. Dead space is very similar to that movie serenity with the reaper. However Dead Space anime scare the out of me cause I have no control over what happen next.

Oh I don't play scary game in the dark ever, in fact I don't play any game in the dark, it really bad for your eyes.

I usually play alone but usually in the daylight and I'm usually somewhere facing outside.

I haven't done this but I would love to play Stalker while I'm drunk!

I love the look of the SA80 so I bought it but it not a good brand. I was going to buy the G&G one but it cost $320 so I opt for the G&G Scar which is the best. I bought the Army L85 which has lot of problems according to a lot of people to which i have not encounter yet.

G&G make the best M4, nevertheless I cannot afford G&P or King Arms gun, they are so beautiful though. It just too expensive for my wallet.

Beside which steam sale, I could get over 100 games for that price :D

Nope you made the right choice. G&G is about performance, while G&P is more exterior. Ever consider a Systema? :D

I'm a bit of a wuss and had some trouble with Metro 2033 for a while... the nosalices creeped me out quite a bit. Interestingly, I got over it for the most part when one of them was about to eat me and I jammed a knife into its skull. I still remember it; probably the most visceral feeling I've ever gotten from a game, and they haven't been so scary since.
