When I play this game it goes to 66C whereas a game like grid or deadspace wont pass 62. Whats the deal? The graphics arent THAT good. I know it doesnt seem that high but tf2 which has much better graphics runs at 51C. Im a pc noob so sry if I am missing something obvious![]()
EDIT: even atitool doesnt go that high.

My brother has a similar problem with Bioshock on his desktop, his Radeon HD4850 starts to overheat and the fan hisses very loudly. It does not happen with other games like UT3, Crysis or even GTA4.
-
Poor efficiency and/or driver compatibility will do that. 3DMark03 did that to me during the planes test.

Try turning on VSync.
Your system may be too strong for it, a harder game does not mean harder on the graphics card
I'll explain:
Crysis on my desktop is incredibly hard on my gpu's my dual 4850's leaving the cpu with not a whole lot of work to do (q6600 @ 3.6ghz)
I hear the fans but its normal.
If I go play an old game like half life 2, suddenly the room is a sauna and I hear my fans screaming? reason?
The game is too easy to render so the cards are kicking out like 300fps and my cpu is maxed out 100% trying to crunch through all the frames.
If I turn on vsync to limit me to only 60fps the cards drop to 20% load and the cpu to like 10% instead of everything loaded @ 100%
So long story short the cards work just as hard on an old game as they do a new one and in an older game its much easier to overload the cpu and that creates a lot of heat that can effect the rest of the system. -
ok thx but is there anyone here with runes of magic who can tell me if the same thing happens for them?
-
i run runes of magic on acer 6935G and it runs a little bit hotter than when i play red alert 3
-
EDIT: Also, can I enable vsync in-game to frame litmit or does it need to be via the control panel. -
hmmmm.....gothic 3 i think ran as hot as runes of magic.

Why does Runes of magic run hotter than other games?
