Hi I just got the Bioshock Demo and the game is performing FAR worse than Crysis! Crysis plays very smooth on my 7600 on medium settings and resolution between 1024x768 and 1280x800..(Shaders set to Low) but when I play Bioshock the performance is terrible and the fps randomly drops to 5-10fps! The overall performance of the game actually improves when i INCREASE the settings!! But still stays crappy and choppy. Im guessing this is driver related..? I have the latest Nvidia drivers..but maybe il have to wait a while...??

Which settings increase causes a performance improvement? (Out of curiosity.)

Also, perhaps if you tried one of the 163.xx Bioshock drivers?

Edit: I just realized your GPU is OC'd, the very first thing you should do is load stock clocks and see if you still have problems.

Its definately not my overclocking thats the problem..
When I started the game, it was set to high detail for the first scene where you arrive in Rapture... It was only running around 15-20 fps but was smooth.. When I try to put the settings on Medium or even low..the performance gets MUCH worse... The FPS keeps going to 5 on some occasions! And I have the 169.04 drivers

Have you tried running it non-OC'd? That's absolutely the first thing you should do when you have unexplained performance issues with an OC'd chip.

Also, try running the game with the 163.44 drivers and see what happens.

Yup, Bioshock is known for being notoriously sensitive to overclocking.

Otherwise... be sure to disable Vsync. It is enabled by default.
