    8700m GT
    Windows Vista

What settings should I be running TF2 on to get at least 30 FPS consistently? I didn't think this was a very demanding game, but I'm getting some bad FPS :[
Are there drivers or anything I should download? Any help would be so appreciated.

I play TF 2 at 1280x800 all high (no AA) well over 30 fps on x1600 256MB in Vista. I would recommend checking the new drivers for your graphic card.

    I hope it helps,

    Ivan

What resolution are you running at?

1280x800 with motion blur and v-sync on, 2x AA, maximum settings, produces a solid performance always over 30fps for me. When I move up to native res (1680x1050) I run at 25 fps though, and it's noticeably stuttery.

I run tf2 all high settings (not max), V-sync off, blur off, HDR on. I get a very steady 40-60fps at 1440x900 (overclocked).

Download Rivatuner and check the MONITOR on it, temps, clocks etc.. that will tell you.

Btw, I run TF2 on a mildly overclocked 8700mGT at 1920x1200, no AA, and everything else at max or ON settings with 45fps avg, at 1440x900 i get 85fps avg, so I can't see why you shouldn't be getting at LEAST 60FPS at max settings..

If you absolutely hate screen tearing and desperately want VSYNC, its best to apply it via your ATI Control Panel. I've heard it doesn't drag down performance as much.

Personally I can't stand screen tearing and apply it via my Nvidia Control Panel on all games.
