    Hi guys.
As i wrote in the title, i think i'm having problems with this card.
    I know that it is a low-end card...but...only 1632 in 3dmark 06...it looks like a 8400 gs.
The cpu is a Intel Core 2 Duo T5600. 2GB of Ram.
With a nvidia 9200gs I achieved 2100 or little more in 3dmark06. (Intel core 2 duo p7350, 3gb of ram).
    Is this normal?

    that's about it.

    so .. overclock it.

I did it on mine, and it does over 2400 .. lol. Even with 128MB onboard memory

Yes, but it's worse than a 9200 gs with standard clock X_x

What resolution and drivers did you run both benchmarks with? DDR2 or GDDR3?

    My 8400m GT gets 2500 stock in 3dmark06 @ 1280 x 800, 3200 marks overclocked to 600\1200\800.

    It's a 256mb GDDR3 card though.

Thats actually quite low, have you updated your video driver via LaptopVideo2Go?

Also, the 8400M and 8600M are known to have a higher chance of failure too, so yours might be.

try out new driver and seriously dont expect much out of it, its a low end and 2 years old. I had given up hope on my 8400m gs a long time ago

my 8400 GT scores about 3500+ in 3Dmark06 at 1280x800 (native res) at 600/731.

dunno why your card is "slower"?

    Geforce 8400m gs/gt are 64bit

    Geforce 9300/9200 are 128bit...

    thats why it blows

The 8400GT is actually quite a decent card and as tianxia said it is a 128bit card. It should be able to run just about anything on at least low settings (GTA4 being one of the exceptions)

Your card is not powerful by all means but I think it should be performing better than that. Have you updated your drivers yet?

And when you ran the 3Dmark test was it plugged in?
