    Hey.

I wanted to ask, Why my computer cant run Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 smoothly?

    My Specs:

    i5 m460 2.5ghz
    4gb ram
    Nvidia 420m gt
    1920x1080p

Although, I have lowered the resolution in the game alot, but still it does not run smoothly.....I also turned off alot of the other stuff in the game to make it run smoother, but nothing is helping.....

What else can I do to make it run smoothly?

That sucks. If yours can't run it smoothly then mine won't stand much of a chance.

Maybe it's the GPU being a bit too weak? ._.

You can try the link below, to see if your noterbook is capable of running it

My 330m only just passes the minumum test, but not the recommended one, so your 420m might have problems

You will need to install java to run the test.

    Can You Run It?

Does the game have a lot of particle effects (smoke, sparks, fire, etc)? Also, just because you past the test does not mean you will be able to run the game maxed out. Trying lowering your resolution and graphics settings until it is playable.

Try lowering the resolution as low as it will go and all the other graphics settings and see if it runs smoothly.

Also, make sure you set your laptop to maximum performance or plug it in while gaming. Update your graphics drivers as well and get rid of any crapware and processes running in the background while you game.

Make sure you don't have any antivirus running scans in the background either.

Well I cant update drivers as I have switchable graphics, Nvidia and Intel and my laptop company did not release new drivers for switchable graphics.

Ok, I will try doing that to see if it helps.

    Thanks for that link.

Performance boosting programs are just trouble. They really don't help out much and on top of everything they may cause more problems.

The BEST way to maximize performance is to have a CLEAN and TIDY system, meaning as few background processes as possible, lightweight and optimized antivirus, and the latest drivers properly installed.

If your system is already crudded up with background processes, vampire antivirus, and old drivers, good luck trying to get any game to run well.

Might as well backup and install a clean copy of Windows.

Have you tried updating your gfx drivers and overclocking your cpu a bit? I tested this game on my Sager notebook (specs in sig) and it runs pretty good (40-60fps) most of the time @ 1680x1050 high settings (medium shadows) if I OC my cpu from 2.50GHz to 2.71GHz. :)
However if I play it at 2.50GHz it lags badly no matter what settings I use.
