I recently installed a 5 year old RTS game, LORD OF THE RINGS BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH 2 RISE OF THE WITCH KING on my AsusG53sx, but everytime I open it, the game wont go full screen. To picture it, there is an all black space on the left and right side about 1-1.5 inch and the game runs at the middle of the screen.

The game has 2 options , a screen resolution of 800x600 and1024x768 compared to my default/recommended resolution setting which is 1366x768. Ive done some research on the net and people said to try to change the resolution of my desktop to 1024x768 which Ive tried but instead what it does is turn the whole desktop to a narrower screen. Another person also said that some old games dont have widescreen capabilities.
Can somebody please help me find a solution? I run windows 7 premium bw, I dont know if thats a useful information.

    Please help guys. :)

The game is in an aspect ratio of 4:3 and your screen is probably 16:9. If the game fills up your whole screen it will be stretched and that isn't any good. Old games have little to no support for 16:10 or 16:9 resolution screens. Also, if you do the changes that Kdawgca linked to, the top and bottom of the screen will be chopped off to reach 16:9. This isn't good because you are seeing less. The best option is to just leave it as is and not worry about black bars on the side.

I would suggest you keep looking for a solution. That game ran at 1440x900 in my laptop just fine. Did you do what Kdawgca said?
