While playing Half-life 2 i go to the advance video settings, and it says my hardware version of Direct X is 8.1 even though i updated it to 9.0c. I checked and my video card and it supports it. Anyone have suggestions?

It may be scaling down your Direct X version in order to be playable. I've heard some people will manually lower their GMA950 all the way to DX7 when playing HL:2. I've never head of it lowering the Direct X version automatically, though.
