Hey,
I am thinking of buying a console but I am really confused. I was really focused on the Wii for the unique gameplay and exclusive titles, but then again the graphics are out-dated and some of the games r extremely bad, in addition the price of the system is more expensive than the Xbox 360 in my country [Wii = $435, Xbox 360 = $367]. Then I think about the Xbox 360 which is has more hardcore games, and very nice graphics, some good exclusive titles, and its cheaper as mentioned above, however most or almost all Xbox 360 games are in PC, even Gears of Wars is coming to PC. Halo 3 may be exclusive now but eventually it will come to PC, and gameplay to me is very similar to the 360 because i have a xbox360 controller for pc. Now I dont have a good graphic card, I would say it delivers medium performence, which I accept as long as its playable. So what do u ppl say? Wii, 360, or keep the money? Plz dont say PS3 cuz its really expensive and I am not thinking of buying until a year from now.
EDIT: Also look at the Wii's Games release date for 2008, NOTHING!!! I mean the console has good games now but then, I cant find any good game announced for 2008 till now, however, Xbox 360 has many good 2008 games such as GTAIV, Ninja Gaiden II...etc.

I say get the 360 because the gaming experience is just awesome. Don't even consider the wii or ps3, PC may be an option but between the two i say you should get the 360.

I've had crazy amounts of fun with a Wii. 360 isn't bad, but much more PC-like games, for which I might as well use my PC. The Wii is 100% console, something that the PC can't do. On the other hand, it also relies a lot on having friends to play with. Most Wii games I've played are really focused on multiplayer.

Welll if you have a medium graphics card might as well get a 360. Consoles are basically guaranteed to run every game that comes out on them. And they'll all look really good, maybe not as good as an ultra high end PC, but still very eye pleasing. If a Wii is more expensive where you live there's no reason to get it at all. The main selling point of the Wii was that it was cheaper than the other two systems.
About the exclusives, sure most of the exclusives from Xbox 360 do go to PC... but you wait a heck of a long time for them. I'm not a patient person which is why I have a 360, plus my PC only has a Go 7400... but yeah I'd say go with the 360 if you have the money for it. I would have picked the Wii for you if it was cheaper, but it isn't. Wii is so fun... but if it's more expensive than a 360 it almost defeats the purpose of it being for the budget/mainstream gamer.
In case my point wasn't clear enough: Get an Xbox 360, I love mine, you'll love yours. -
The 360 is a very good. Microsoft has cut the price of the Premium edition and replaced some components so it's less likely to overheat. Hope you have an HDTV or a big computer monitor though.
-
i would get the xbox 360 even though i'm a sony lover,i'll get it plus you'll have a computer and a console
-
which is a disadvantage for the 360. and if i want to bring a VGA cable 4 the 360 I have to pay and extra $50 which then it will equal the price of the Wii
-
Why not check Ebay to see if you can get the Wii and Xb360. I have both and it's nice to have both. The 360 is great for being able to play PC titles. The Wii is great in that it's refreshing to actually have to move to play a game.

Playstation 3?

But really I think this generation of games is worst than last one where the PS2 was king of the jungle. The games r not like before, and they are becoming more boring and dull (mostly graphical focus). -
get the 360 i've had countless hours of fun playing mine, forget the Wii and the PS3 they have no good games on them and the 360 has the better exclusives. Until metal gear solid 4 comes out

I got a couple of wireless xbox 360 controllers for my pc and with the option of the unbeatable keyboard and mouse for FPSs I'd say stick with the pc. (you can't beat the keyboard and mouse combo for speed fragging!)
If it's a desktop you use for gaming with medium graphics settings then I'd spend a bit on it replacing the graphics card.
In my opinion there is a much wider variety of games styles out there for a PC. You can still find the old classics and kickass new ones too. They seem to be more in depth than console games (IMO), you can spot a ported console game a mile off on a pc. Compare Deus Ex 2 which was written for console first to the original Deus Ex which was written for PC first and you'll see what I mean.
I used to think that PCs were no good for sociable gaming due to hotseat hopping but now I have a 22" tft widescreen I just turn the sofa slightly then I can slob out with a few tins and play games with friends easily using the 360 controllers (you can have more than one running via the wireless adaptor so it's great for simultaneous multiplayer games) ... games nights have made a comeback! -
I'm a PC gamer through and through. However now that I am at college I am seeing why consoles are popular. With that said, I would not purchase any console and take the money you are willing to spend on a 360 or Wii and put that towards a new graphics card so that you can play the better PC games now and not wait. But if I were forced to buy a console, I would buy the 360. It seems to have more going for it and the graphics are pretty nice I must admit.

Mouse+Keyboard = <3
Best game controllers ever! I'd stick to the PC! -
is there a good graphics card at the price of the 360? and will my P4 3.0Ghz / 2GB RAM be a problem??

looks damn nice to me and pretty good price too for the UK.
(this one does need extra power from PSU) -
Yep, get a 360, you simply can't regret it (unless you get RROD, but you get a 3 year warrantly these days).
-
nice ... but the card isn't directx 10, and the extra PSU would cost me and extra $120 here. btw i have a pci-express slot
-
I also heard that there is a new heatsink 4 the 360, any idea how to know if u have the new one before purchase? -
i just say...... Xbox 360

Also, supposedly newer 360's shouldn't run into the problem. Supposedly they made some changes at the same time as they announced the extended warranty, and a few months ago, they also switched to 64nm CPU's which produce less heat. All in all, I wouldn't be too worried. If the 360 has the games you want, buy one.
Wii, Xbox 360, or stay on PC?
