This will be mainly for gaming, internet and word processing, its that sager notebook that everyone raves about.

    http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np5793...vo-m570ruu-m571ruu-p-2276.html?wconfigure=yes

I will be equipping it with an 8800gtx... so will games take a big preformance hit if I save 80 bucks on a processor?

    Thanks again!

*edit* no real encoding or anything.. even though I do like my SUPCOM and starcraft.

Most games today are GPU dependent not CPU dependent. Microsoft Flight Simulator X or most racing sims are more CPU dependent because it has to factor in physics ad intensive CPU calculations into the game.

If you don't plan on playing flight sims or racing sims then the T8300 should be enough. You have a nice video card for most games. If you have the money then splurge for the T9300.

^^ what he said, even X9000 is still too slow for FSX. other than that T8300 is bloody fast for anything.

Dang, you sure that its safe to OC on a laptop? And the internal memory is still less, even if you OC it.

Right now the 4 gig ram upgrade is free :) which is pretty sick, so I will be also getting that.

I'd go with the T8300, it's the best value in the Penryn lineup. You're not going to see a difference between it and the T9300. The best value is almost always the third one down from the top. The T8300 is the third one down apart from the T9500 and T9300.

my asus keeps the cpu at 3ghz very cool, its a very good laptop, you wont notice the difference in cache between 3mb and 6mb too much especially when overclocked. The t9300 hits 3ghz and 800mhz ram easily on stock voltages, id expect the t8300 to hit 2.8 easy

Single 8800M-GTX > 8700M-GT SLI. Not worth it.
