my wife recently bought Sims2 for her desktop pc. now she wants to shop for a laptop and install Sims2 game on it. I asked the EAGames techsupport and told me that Sims2 games don't support laptops, even though the system requirements are met. So I'm thinking I can get the top of the line, kick-ass laptop system, meeting the games' system requirements, and the game won't work? I need to hear some fact and opinions from the experienced notebook gamers out there.

I have never heard of a laptop which meets the min specs of a game not being able to run it. I have a laptop and have played FIFA2005, HL2, Farcry, Doom3, CS, UT2003/4, COD, just to name a few. I should see no problems with running sims2 on a laptop. My advice is to look for a notebook with at least a ATI9600 GPU or better just to be on the safe side all the same.

I guess EA is looking not to sell games as nearly 50% of PC purchases are laptops now. I have Sims 2 and it runs fine on my laptop and it's not a "gaming machine" per se. So, you'll be fine.
