I still maintain that a CPU upgrade is a waste of money. MW2 will not gain anything from it; your T8100 is sufficient. Your graphics card is entirely the bottleneck here.

You could have a CPU that runs at 2.0 Ghz running MW2 at 1680 x 1050 resolution with a good GPU such as the GTX 260M. If you upgraded to a 3.0 Ghz CPU, you would hardly see any difference, if any at all. In some cases benchmarks have shown a 1.8 Ghz Core2Duo performing the same as a 3.0 Ghz Core2Duo at higher resolutions with the same GPU. This is not something some want to believe.

Alright then maybe Ill stick with vidock solution. Can anyone recommend me a site to buy them as cheap as possible. The one with the gpu already in it is more preferred. I can't seem to find any ViDocks on ebay anybody have any explantions for this?? ALso, is there any way so i don't have to buy a external monitor??

Cheapest way to go would be a US$190 HD5670 or US$240 HD5770 DIY ViDock. Consider too if your system has a port layout to do a x2 link offering considerably better performance. Add another US$62 for the parts for x2. The Dell Studio 1555 can do x2 1.0.

See Mini FAQ->3. Can I make this use my notebooks LCD display? in the same link. Short answer=No.

Need to map out your mPCIe and expresscard slots to pci-e ports. x2 1.0 can be done using port1+port2, port3+port4 or port5+port6. So would need to put say an e-sata or usb 3.0 card into the expresscard slot, see what it comes up in Everest. Note default wifi card port, then swap it into any additional mPCIe slots and see what it comes up as. Eg: 2530P everest port layout here shows wifi is port2 and expresscard slot is port3, so can't do a x2.

Next best performance option is a x1E link using a mPCIe or expresscard slot using an odd numbered port with no device in an adjacent port as detailed here.

We've found x1E can offer decent FPS for recent games when run using DX9. DX10 requires more pci-e bandwidth. x1 1.0 really bogs down when having multiple detailed objects being animated. Please refer to this post for BC2 indicative performance x1 and x1E performance.

Presumably because desktops just aren't quite so handy to carry around.
