If I were to configure an XPS M1210 with the 2ghz Duo and the 7400 what are the chances that it will be able to play such upcoming games as Unreal Tournament 2K7?

At first I was going to go with an E1705 because of the big screen and performance, but I am going to be buy a 21" widescreen monitor that I will just hook my notebook up to while in my dorm.

The M1210 captures my eyes because it would have great portability and decent specs but I'm not sure about the performance of the 7400.

    -Thanks.

It will probably be able to run it it at about a low/low-medium setting. Just to give you an idea, I ran the F.E.A.R. demo pretty well at about medium settings just without shadows and the best lighting, so you might have to concede some features in order to make it run smoothly. Imo, the M1210 is a good college dorm and a wise investment for the future laptop-wise.

you really need to get an M1710. From games like Unreal Tournament 2K7, the Ge Force 7400 gives poor performance.

Don't get me wrong, the M1710's are awesome, I just don't really want to lug around a huge laptop like that during college, nor do I want to pay for one of those beasts.

It's not integral that I could play it, I have a 360 for gaming, I was just curious.

And yeah, at first I was dead set on getting an E1705 but now I really want the M1210 after going to Best Buy and feeling out the different notebook sizes.

It'll probably play fine on lower settings.

Since you're looking for a notebook, howabout you fill out the FAQ, it'd help.

For around the price of the m1210, there's the ASUS a8jm and w3j along with the compal hgl30, all have comperable video card to eachother, but are about twice as good as the one int he m1210, however, they're 14 inchers, not 12.

UT2k7 man you need a beast of a notebook for that. Consider the M1710 if you are a real fan of UT.

I am going to fill out the FAQ, but I wanted to wait until about a week before I get my notebook so I'm not just cluttering the board.

My hope is that possibly before August the Asus A6T or some other kind of nice Turion X2 machine comes out, but if I had to get one right now it would probably be the M1210 or the Asus W3J.

Well yeah, right now they are, as you can only get the 1.6ghz model.

I'm just waiting to see if perhaps a 2ghz model gets released within the next month.
