I have 1.5GB right now, one 512mb 533 stick and one 1GB 667, if i took out the 512 and got another stick of Transcend 1GB 667 would i really see any cost effective difference in gaming? Cost is about $70. Mainly play HL2 and BF2.

For bf2 somewhat as it plays well with 2 gigs, but pretty much no difference for hl2 as it doesnt even come close to using 1.5 gigs of ram.

Most people won't notice that. You aren't really going to be loading that much data into RAM at one time, especially at the detail settings that'd keep those games playable on your machine, Jeff Coleman. If you run lots of apps at once, or have a lot of utilities loaded while you're gaming, then it may be worth it. Just an FYI, Windows applications physically cannot access more than 2GB of RAM (including virtual memory). Period. You have to do a lot of twiddling to give them the ability to do so (it's called Large Page support in Linux, or AWE in Windows). If you're using a ton of memory regularly with all your tray apps and such, it'd be a worthwhile upgrade. Otherwise... spend your money on comic books or something with a more tangible return

I doubt you will see a difference between 1.5 and 2GB. If your hard drive is light on the time, which indicates that the system is using the page file for virtual RAM, then you need more. If not, then stick with what you have.
Will another 512mb make any noticable difference in gaming?
