    ...stuff like Sims 2, BF2, and maybe some older FPS games? I was going to splurge for the ASUS AJ8 with the 7700, but I'm constantly bringing my notebook around so opted for a slightly-smaller system. I'm hoping I can still play the occasional game on it.

    the 8400gt.. or even gs will run old games fine.

    This is the "G", not the GT or GS. I think it's basically a castrated GS.

    The Sims 2 - Yes
    Older FPS Games - Mostly yes (depending on how old)
    Battlefield 2 - Yes, but you're probably stuck with low settings
