Ok so Im looking at buying the HDX16T,

    Specs: P8700 2.53Ghz, 9600m GT 512mb DDR3, 4Gb 800mhz Ram, 250gb 7200rpm HD.

Is this going to be able to play recent and current games on medium graphics or better? COD4, GTA4, Crysis etc?

I have a computer with a 9600m GT (though it's 256MB), and GTA4 runs alright at lower/the default settings, but it still isn't a very good experience.

GTA4, you would run but with the lowest of settings because of the processor. Crysis fits in there with medium settings, where as Call of duty could be put pretty high

I thought the processor was pretty recent and fast, core 2 duo 2.53Ghz, what processor should I be looking at instead?

For GTAIV, quad core processors are almost a given.

No processor will save you. You need to look at notebooks with better graphics cards. The games you want to play need for power than the 9600M can provide.

I always disliked having to play so many games at low or medium settings but that is just me. If you can, I highly recommend getting a better GPU than that one because in the long run, it will perhaps save you time and money.

Besides GTA4, games run fine on medium/high at lower res (1280~)
