will it be able to function as an alternative to on board video cards ill give rep to anybody who helps out

It's a device that connects to the laptop through the ExpressCard slot, acts as a GPU (yes it will be used instead of the GPU in the laptop) but it shows the output only on an external monitor. (I think it has a 8600GTS or something inside)
And the performance of the 8600GTS will be lowered somehow due to the fact that the link for ExpressCard is PCI Express x1 rather than x16 (no the performance will not be divided by 16
, it's will be something around 2/3 of the real thing AFAIK)

any body got any links to were i can get an external monitor for cheap and does my inspiron 1501 support this

If you have an ExpressCard it will work (I don't think that E1501 has one)
As for the XG thing, it's not out yet (despite the fact that it has been announced for a long time) -
it does it has every thing exceot media direct witch i have no use for allthough conveniant i rarely get in a hurry for that and defies the purpose of an m3 player and pda
Will the asus xg only be for multiple monitors or what
