Recently I have bought a couple computer games that would not run on my computer because of my 64 mb graphics card. I think it is time to buy a new computer. Also, since this has a dedicated hard drive, would I be able to upgrade it to a 256?
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask these questions. I tried.
Thanks for all of your help guys!

Probably not, the X200M is a good card, but Oblivion is high end gaming. Why don't you fill out the FAQ and we could try to find you a good notebook.
-
Okay thanks reize. I just posted in the FAQ.
By the way.. would it be possible to upgrade the card my self? It is a dedicated card so there should be room.. right? -
You cant upgrade laptop graphics cards. In 99% of models it cant be done. In that remaining 1% you have to send it to the company. HP is not one of those companies that upgrades your notebooks like that.

okay.. thanks guys=)

No problem, glad to have helped.

Will either of these run Oblivion? -
Those'll run it but you wont get the graphics any higher than low-medium.
-
Yep, they'll run it, but don't epect stellar performance.
-
bah, that's a bit disappointing.
Is the X1400 not good enough?
ah well, but it should still run smoothly at low-medium settings though eh? -

Well mate that is what you call smooth...
To compare:
I have an X700 128 MB clocked to 366:330 and I play with 13- 28 fps with 1280*800, Large textures, good details, no shadows at all expect myself, no AA...
I dont know if your X1400 will run smooth... Maybe the Core Duo will makes some good with its processor, but I cant guarantee you anything.

Oblivion uses the second core to help preload an area before you enter IIRC.
-
That's cool =)

I'm looking to buy oblivion and I have the dell 1505, same specs as originally posted, except for its only a T300 (1.66GHZ)...will that run it? I'm not looking for stellar performance...i'm just fine with low settings, so long as it runs fairly smoothly....

Don't underestimate the T2300. It's very powerful, and can handle any application.
Note to everyone - As long as you have a modern processor and a (preferably) 128MB video card with DirectX 9 compataiblity, you will be fine.
Will this computer run Oblivion?
