around the time when crysis came out, I downloaded the driver from laptopvideo2go.com that came out around that same time and was supposedly optimized for that game (169.09 i think). Now, whenever i play Half-life2, I have a problem where i go to exit the game, the screen turns into a jumbled mess of colors, go black for about 30 sec, and then switches to a screen that gets an increasingly brighter shade of green, then goes back to black and then into window where i get a message saying that there was a problem with the NV4_disp and that I should reboot. Once I reboot, i get a message saying that my comp just recovered from a serious error.

Will this problem fry my vidcard?

Does anybody know what the most stable driver for gaming/modding is on laptopvideo2go.com?

I doubt it will cause any physical damage (aside from possible heat-related issues or problems with the hard drive from forcing a restart), but I would highly suggest using a more stable driver...

Did you uninstall your old driver before installing the new one?

I'd also recommend 169.04, it is stable and allows for great performance. The 169.09 drivers you have installed are better for SLI setups.
