hey, I'm about to buy my first laptop, but im a big gamer (spending almost all of my free time on World of Warcraft) the required spec for WoW is
Windows Me/2000/XP (32-bit version only)
800 Mhz or higher CPU.
512 Megabytes or more of RAM.
32MB 3D Graphics card with Hardware Transform/Lighting (such as a GeForce 2 or better).
6 Gigabytes or more of available hard drive space.
DirectX® 9.0c or above.
the laptop I was going to buy is a HP pav with
Processor speed: 2 GHz
Processor: AMD Turion MK-36
Storage (hard drive): 100 GB
Memory (RAM): 1024 MB
Shared graphics: 128MB GF6150GO
Spec of the laptop on comet.co.uk
im abit of a noob when it comes to graphics cards, does anyone know if that laptop will run WoW smoothly?
or if any laptop can run WoW smoothly or should I just stick to desktop PC for it?
I'd appreciate any help anyone wiser than me can give![]()

It will run it smoothly, but not at higher settings. The Go6150 is a lower end card. I think you should at least get a machine with a 6600 if you are a big gamer.
-
Yeah it will run WoW, but to get a good amount of FPS you won't be able to crank settings up in it. I assume you are looking at the dv2000t?
-
WoW will run on anything. Its just a matter of what kind of graphic settings you can set it at. For highish settings though a minimum of a GeForce 6600 or a Radeon x700 is recomended though.

Since you're looking for a laptop, I would suggest completing the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum.
The Go6150 isn't a card you want if you plan to game. -

Yeah it'll run, but go ahead and try to get better graphics hardware. Try on of the HP d6000 series computers (like mine). My GeForce Go 7200, despite being pretty crappy overall can run WoW in full specs with nice, smooth framerate.

I reckon it should be fine. You dont NEED to run at high settings for excellent gameplay. It is certainly the case for the gaming I do.

If you want high as people have X700 even an X1400 possible could do it which am sure it could not every single game high as it is a mid card but allot betetr than GeForce 6150
-
I can personally vouch that the X1400 will run WoW in all it's glory, at least at 1280X800. Didn't slow down in a 20 man raid, but didn't try anything bigger.
Will this laptop run WoW?
