Yupe it will... but budget wise, go for toshiba P100, generally anything with a nvidia 7900GS will do more than u ask for.

Keep in mind that a 7900GS represents a compromise between power and performance.

If you want the absolute highest end GPU, you're looking for a 7900GTX or something.

That said, the 7900GS is still a beast.

Actually whats the diff between the GS and GTX? Is it the essentially the same chip but just OC'd like the retail AGP ones were?

The GTX is clocked much higher and features an additional 4 pixel pipes.

Hmm, so do you think with modern games the GS won't cut it as much as the GTX or is the difference negligable on current games.

I really like the above machine, can't find a better spec in that price bracket atm.

The 7900GS is fine for any game on the market...better battery life too. GTX is more powerful, but I think it isn't worth the price hike.

people should really use the search

    http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=293&type=expert&pid=1

the gs will play all games fine with good settings @ the 1440x900 resolution and below

if you want to play at 1920x1200 resolution and max settings then get the gtx

although some how you got the 512mb version of the gs, while that article only has the 256mb version.

So i'd imagine you the 512mb gs would game fairly well.

You'll be fine with the 1440x900 resolution. Like rickster said, if you had a WUXGA screen, you might need the 7900GTX. But I play F.E.A.R. comfortably at 1440x900 res beautifully at all settings maxed, picking between 2xAA or Soft Shadows. And since you have the 512MB 7900GS, you could overclock it to pretty much be a 7900GTX.
