    another noob question.
I haven't played any FPerson shooting game for so long for my labtop is pretty old and shabby. So I'm planning to buy this

    Asus A8jp
    - Centrino Dualcore2 T5600 1.83GHz 2MB L2
    - ATI X1700 256Vram 512 Hypermemory
    - 512 MB DDR2 (which I'll upgrade it into 1GB)

How well could this notebook play Battlefield 2142? would I be able to play
it smoothly with slightly high graphic settings? Thanks

(anyway, I intended to do some amature audio editing and some music production with it too, any comment on this area would be appreciated, thanks)

    Thanks a lot
    Cheers

512 megs will not be enough. And my experiences with BF2 shows that 2 GB of RAM is really the sweet spot, 1 GB just isn't enough. Given that the video card uses hypermemory, this is even more the case. The video card is very nice for a laptop, though obviously is nowhere near top end compared to desktop video cards. But it should be plenty good enough for a decent resolution with fairly high graphics settings.

Please check the stickies before you post . . I had asked that threads where you post the specifications of your laptop and then ask how it would run games not be posted. It clutters the forum. Read the stickies before you post, thanks. If you have additional questions post them in the below thread.
