PCI-Express X16 nVIDIA 256MB 8600M GS

It has 2GB memory in it now, but I am upgrading to 4GB. Will it play well on 2GB also, and on 4GB??
I am new to notebookreview and dont really know about everything around here, but i will get used to it i guess. a friend (ahl395 is his username) told me about this and i was interested. so hi all notebookreview users!

i'm pretty sure it will, but i dont know if you can chage the res and video settings though, it worked fine on a gma950
-
should be fine at high settings
anything over 30 fps is smooth so i wouldnt worry:

Expect max settings, no anti aliasing, and at least 1440x900 resolution with smooth gameplay. for the 8600mGS the difference between 2 gb and 4gbs of ram is non existant in terms of Frames per second, but might lessen loads times more between loading into a house, or changing neiborhoods etc.
oh, and take it from me, I also own a dv9500t with an 8600mGS. -
yes that is more than enough. at 2GB the RAM is plenty. it will work even fine on 1GB. the only thing that is the weakest there is the CPU, but even then it is still allright. i rate your machine as being - Good - at playig Sims 2.

err.. wow, sorry to go off topic but I'm AMAZED that no one's used that name yet! wow... Nvidia, you'd think it would be used up already..
-
We already mentioned it in the other thread.

Anyway--thanks for all the help everyone -
hehe, this means i'll be able to play this game on my lappy?
Will this work with my notebook?
