    Hi there,

I just got an Asus G50V (to remplace my old G1S) and everything works fine except that Windows is not running smoothly. The impression of lag is particularly important when browsing the internet. For instance scrolling on a web page is not fluid.

I updated video drivers to 185.5 but it still happens. My guess is that Powermizer has something to do with it. Of course it is enabled and 2D mode is on. But it doesn't seem to adjust a lot to the GPU need.
And I noticed that even in High Performance Mode, memory clock remains at 100 mhz. Is that normal ?

Hope you can help me because it's frustrating to have a powerful laptop which lags on the internet :/

i dont think its powermizers issue. When im browsing the web or text editing my clocks are in the hundreds yet i dont suffer from lags.
check to see if theres something in the background hogging your resources

Nope, nothing is hogging resources. And it is strange because it actually also happens on clean OS install (tried both Vista and Win7 RC).
By the way I just installed COH:Opposing Fronts and I get quite bad performance for the Asus G50V (15-25 fps on high at 1280*720 + lag for a few secs when I move around the map). Coreclocks (ROP and shaders) rise up but memory clock is stuck at 100 mhz even when I'm playing games (or at least RivaTuner says so) !

    You think it's normal ?

huh thats nto normal that only the memory clock stays unmoving.... try updating to an even more recent driver of 186.03 should be on nvidia's site

Thanks, it's okay now (although it didn't work with 185.5 !). Actually RivaTuner shows 100mhz but GPU-Z is not mistaken and says 800mhz when a game is launched. Now I run COH:OF smoothly at 50-60 fps, really enjoyable !
