You have a high-end computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. When the graphics processing unit (GPU) on the computer operates under heavy load conditions, you may receive the following Stop error message:
"Stop 0x0000007E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" error when the GPU is under heavy load conditions in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I've only gotten complete freezeups with a black screen. can't tell if there's a bsod behind it. -

I've gotten the black screen freezeup too. Only with some games though (Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect, etc.) , and lowering the settings and resolution didn't help at all. I finally fixed it by underclocking the video card (core and mem.) by 50 Mhz.

I noticed that Catalyst 10.3 Preview is the most stable driver so far, with the least amount of freezeups for my FW. Hasn't frozen yet at stock clocks. Might help -
never had bsods, but i do get freezeup occasionally in certain games. If I had to do some underclocking should i just leave the shader clock, and reduce core and mem. by 50 mhz?
