Im posting this in gaming forums because the problem herein described mainly effected my overclocking/undervolting/benchmarking softwares.

So, as I recently posted, I recieved a free copy of Windows 7 from my University, since I'm part of the MSDN, (I was previously using 32-bit Vista). I have to say I really like the interface, (this was something I didn't care about at all at first). My boot time was cut in half, and battery life has improved when doing basic tasks...anyway...

I wanted to point out my biggest problem with it. The unsigned driver enforcement. YOU CANNOT INSTALL UNSIGNED DRIVERS ON WINDOWS 7 64-BIT (at least without any modding). This means Rivatuner, GPUtool, RMClock, Beta drivers etc, all dont run....at all..

Plenty of registry hacks and BCDedits have been posted, but they are all muted in the final version of 7. Long sotry short the only way to turn it off is to select "disable signed driver enforcement" in the boot menu...every time.

I did however find a program to automatically edit the 7 boot manager to autoselect this option everyboot...it works..

this has plagued Vista x64 users since it first came out...I didn't expect them to reverse their decision around the security features

    thats different.

in vista x64 and 7 x64, you cannot install unisigned drivers.

    it sucks.

there is a legit way to sign your own drivers though if you are really serious about getting something to work.

The unsigned driver protection has been around since Vista .

Rivatuner is 64bit capable. I use it on W7 Pro x64

RMclock has signed x64 drivers, download them from my guide.

Make sure you download the 64bit installer for the programs.
