Microsoft has little to no incentive to spend millions of dollars to promote PC gaming. The vast majority of computer games already require a Microsoft operating system. It's not like the users have a choice as to which OS they want to use if they are gaming.

Im not really fussed about games being integrated with windows. Theres really no point to it. Its best to keep business and pleasure seperate.

They can make far more money with the Xbox both on a per game and overall basis than they can with PC gaming. GFWL failed as a money maker because no right-minded PC gamer was going to shell out money every month for the "privalege" of playing GFWL games online multiplayer. Besides, with Windows installed on 95%+ of computers out there, and probably more than 99% of computers used to play games on, they don't exactly have competition to fend off.

Thanks for the read... Red_Dragon Notebook Prophet

    Intel Dedicated Graphics Push...

Main Stream gaming was killed byt this more than anything else INHO..

Intel's greed knows no bounds and cares not for betterment of all. Or the betterment of the overall experience.. thier (thier being Intel's) view is that Nividia (the leader) has terrible quality control and and ATI is to artsy fartsy.. to deal with seriously.. so why not clean up the segment and make a ton of cash doing it.. Either way it was looked at, you have terrible build quality or pig headed true believer artist types.. from an idiot bean counter / corporate types perspective.. both are losers.. bean counters have no use for vision.. unless it is in a locked room with R&D on the door.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=intel+dedicated+graphics+card&aq=0&oq=intel+dedicated+&aqi=g1

Microsoft has traded favors with Intel now for so long that it seemed.. by Microsoft the natural thing to do.. supporting Intel's market share grab.

Whether you are an ATI person or an Nvidia person.. either way... it is you(s) verse them.. have no illusions.. divide and conquer, it works.

    Be well all, JW

Every single PC gamer throwing away their rigs for an Xbox 360 is Microsoft's wet dream.

intel's larrabee did not kill main stream gaming.

    that makes no sense.

    1. larrabee doesn't exist
    2. main stream gaming is not dead

    1. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Intel-Larrabee-Graphics-Cards-Integrate-16-Cores-48746.shtml

    2. I did not say that.. What I said was the becuase of the in roads.. being developed by Intel.. that the broader market that is PC gaming.. would suffer.

Intel's dedicated graphics offer no.. none... zero.... nada.... quality options for PC Gaming..

If you are angry.. I understand.. but understand.. I am not Intel..

Do not shoot the messenger.. more or less..

    Be well, JW

The simple fact is that MS cannot monetize PC gaming while consoles are a cash cow. That combined with the fact that they control 99% of the install base for gamers on computers means that they don't have any motivation to get behind PC gaming. Any business will ignore a segment that represents little to no profit and has no competition.
