    Windows 8 CCC issues 6990m

    Hey gus i own a Alienware m18x r1 and decided to upgrade to windows 8...

    Upon doing so i could not Use CCC
    So i thought okay. i went and downloaded the Drivers for windows 8 from AMD's site....
    Installed it and it says everything went great. but yet there isn't a CCC installed on my computer at all....

    Another issue i am having is with my AlienFX there not working with windows 8 either. it gives me some error saying that AFX is unable to communicate or somthing like that....

    Could i please get some help with this issue...

    hey man I also switched to windows 8 on Alienware m18x r1 with amd 6990mms so I installed those latest catalyst drivers from amd.com 12.10 and everything went well untill I loaded adobe after effects, first when I switch in it's preferences to multicore rendering it crashes and the system returns me blue screen. and the other problem is that when I load up a sertain plug in called mettle shapeshifter or freeform pro it immediately gives me an error something like "158: texture.cpp not found "
    after dosens of reinstallment of catalyst and trying out every different version including those that are on dell support page I managed to run all my software exept for premiere pro plugin totalcode, although it is still works but when I specify render settings to render on openCL and press render it says that h264 encoder not found with the amd app sdk 2.7 and 2.8 versions installed it returns the same error. so back to the mettle plugins: I found out that they only work on older versions of catalyst software. the display driver must be any version but less then 9th I currently use dells factory installed version 8.09 and the mettle both plugins run well but still have an issue with opencl rendering with totalcode for premiere pro cs6. ps with every old version( between 8 th and 9th of display driver on catalyst software) of catalyst on windows 8 I've also got a tearing effect on every icon on the desktop in the new "tablet view of windows" but I can live with that I found this quite impressive and quirky and funny with a bit of insanity look or mood or whatever
