You have issues if you believe Quantum Break, which will be pushing DirectX 12 hard, won't have multi-GPU support, if not at launch, added later.

Also since when is Reddit EVER reliable? You link us to an article which links to Reddit where almost all of the claims get called out in the first 10 posts as being patently false. Whatever, if Quantum Break is garbage on PC its the end of the Windows Store... Microsoft can't afford the store to fail after how heavily they've invested in Windows 10 customers buying from their store and thus subsidizing the free give away of Windows 10...

If Microsoft bombs the Windows Store, they will lose the PC Master Race because none of us will play with those limits...

Actually, all of this is already happening. See Rise of the Tomb Raider.

    Other source on wccftech :

    http://wccftech.com/windows-store-terrible-support-games-microsoft-fix/

Nvidia made a statement ( can't find the source sorry ) where they claimed working on this.
But as usual with MS : they make the dump, others have to clean the mess.

Actually, I didn't said that QB is not supporting multi-gpu, but the quote simply implies that for now, the ROTTR store version isnt able to do these things.
Most of the facts stated in the post are verified, I made my researches.. Lets be serious, you let a major platform like steam and say, well you take it on Win Store or forget about it ! M$ is driving crasy or what ?

So are you seriously trying to insinuate that Microsoft is going to take on Valve with DX12 exclusives? Because that would just open the door for Vulkan (which is coded for multigpu even in Linux) - its a low level API... An alternative to DX12... With Valve backing SteamOS, how many of us could say we wouldn't buy or make a Steam box if Halflife 3 was Vulkan? It's an intriguing prospect... The power of Vulkan leveraged against a free OS... We all know just like Square Enix has been working on FFVII remake for years... Valve has been working on HL3 too... What if Valve finally changes Microsoft? It's not that big of an IF if you've ever used a SteamOS install. Valve has a ton of AAAs that run on Linux. Unfortunately I've been promised better performance back in the UT2K4 days... And yes, the Linux version ran much better... Because it didn't have the graphics options afford by... Hold on let me grab my box... DirectX 9.0B.

Sorry I have the day 1 release before they made an OpenGL release... I'd be amazed if it even ran anymore... On Windows anyway.

I'm getting Quantum Break cheap so if I need to be the tester on limits, so be it. We don't have to wait long...

If you have Amazon Prime, you have at least a week after launch to pay the same 47.99... I'll be glad to run any test you guys want on launch.

Wow, what take down valve do you mean man, I just said that they ignored the main platform for buying games to put their stuff on their custom store that is currently unpopular and have reports of bugs and other disadvantages like not having "classic" executables (mods incompatible) and support for exclusive FScreen (so non G Sync/Free Sync), no possibility for AfterBurner, fraps or injection of textures pack/ color effects etc..
If you buy it day one, let us know about it :) as far as i'm concerned, I'm staying miles away from it until I see the reviews..

Xfire only works in full screen mode so certainly no support there.

I'm guessing from the current thinking of M$ about PC gaming, even if they get the support of all those features, there would be definitely strings attached, who knows the collaboration with ngreedia could be catastrophic but I'm glad that game IPs won't push to this extent of choiceless B$ on the world's best flexible gaming platform.

    But only time will unfold...

[updated] Epic boss accuses Microsoft of trying to "monopolize game development on PC"
    https://linustechtips.com/main/topi...-trying-to-monopolise-game-development-on-pc/

"Sweeney called on Microsoft to make UWP an open platform, and he pulled no punches in expressing concern for the future.
"Valve's Steam distribution service is booming with over 100m users, and publishers like Adobe, Autodesk, Blizzard, Riot Games and EA are operating highly successful businesses selling their games and content directly to consumers.

"Microsoft's situation, however, is an embarrassment. Seven months after the launch of Windows Store alongside Windows 10, the place remains devoid of the top third-party games and signature applications that define the PC experience. Where's Photoshop? Grand Theft Auto V? Fifa 2016? There are some PC ports of what were great mobile games, and some weirder things, such as the Windows 10 port of the Android port of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto from 2004.

"But the good PC stuff isn't there, with the exception of Microsoft's own software products. Does Microsoft really think that independent PC developers and publishers, who cherish their freedom and their direct customer relationships, are going to sign up for this current UWP fiasco?

"In my view, if Microsoft does not commit to opening PC UWP up in the manner described here, then PC UWP can, should, must and will, die as a result of industry backlash. Gamers, developers, publishers simply cannot trust the PC UWP 'platform' so long as Microsoft gives evasive, ambiguous and sneaky answers to questions about UWP's future, as if it's a PR issue. This isn't a PR issue, it's an existential issue for Microsoft, a first-class determinant of Microsoft's future role in the world."

Sweeney said Epic had spoken with Spencer and Microsoft to express its concern about UWP ahead of its announcement. But, it seems, this concern had fallen on deaf ears.

"Because they listened very patiently, I hoped and believed that Microsoft would do the right thing, but here we are. Microsoft's consumer launch and PR around UWP are in full swing, and this side of the story must be told.""
Microsoft wants to monopolise games development on PC. We must fight it
    http://www.theguardian.com/technolo...-pc-games-development-epic-games-gears-of-war

"Microsoft is looking to dominate the games industry ecosystem with its aggressive new UWP initiative.

Developers must oppose this, or else cede control of their titles.

Gears of War developer tells games industry: we must fight Microsoft"

    Why We Fight

"As the founder of a major Windows game developer and technology supplier, this is an op-ed I hoped I would never feel compelled to write. But Epic has prided itself on providing software directly to customers ever since I started mailing floppy disks in 1991. We wouldn’t let Microsoft close down the PC platform overnight without a fight, and therefore we won’t sit silently by while Microsoft embarks on a series of sneaky manoeuvres aimed at achieving this over a period of several years.

This day has been approaching for over 18 months, and I need to give credit to Microsoft folks, especially Phil Spencer, for always being willing to listen to Epic’s concerns with UWP’s paradigm, and to proposed solutions. Because they listened very patiently, I hoped and believed that Microsoft would do the right thing, but here we are. Microsoft’s consumer launch and PR around UWP are in full swing, and this side of the story must be told.

Microsoft’s intentions must be judged by Microsoft’s actions, not Microsoft’s words.

Their actions speak plainly enough: they are working to turn today’s open PC ecosystem into a closed, Microsoft-controlled distribution and commerce monopoly, over time, in a series of steps of which we’re seeing the very first. Unless Microsoft changes course, all of the independent companies comprising the PC ecosystem have a decision to make: to oppose this, or cede control of their existing customer relationships and commerce to Microsoft’s exclusive control."

Tim Sweeney is the co-founder of US-based developer, Epic Games, creator of the Gears of War series of Xbox and PC titles, which has sold over 20m units worldwide.

Wow. All I can say. Every developer should just switch gears (no pun intended) right now to SteamOS and Vulkan.

I'm going to be 100‰ cheerleeding Vulkan now. It's the best way forward. MS have demonstrated time and time again they can't be trusted.
They can still their dx12 where the sun don't shine.

Unfortunately the only way we can cheerlead Vulkan the best is if developers actually start making games for SteamOS. If I had a choice at this point in time I'm sure I'd opt for Vulkan version. Easy to run SteamOS right from my current PC.
