Anyone have any ingame benchmarks for windows vista 64 vs 32 bit? I have this site, but it is old (from Feb)... pretty sure drivers have improved since then!

i think ut3 specifically isn't going to run on 64 bit vista. could be wrong.
-
i like the 32bit version because it has more support for drivers and stuff. but then the 64bit can recognize more memory. up to 16GB on vista ultimate.
-
are u serious? anyone have true confirmation?
im gonna cry if you cant run the new unreal3 on 64bit vista.. -
i havent heard anything about ut3 NOT running on 64bit. i really doubt it, because there are alot of games out that run on both 32 and 64 bit. older games at that.
-
Im almost 100 percent sure that UT3 will not run on a 64 bit vista. not sure why, but that is just what i have heard.
-
There are already some games that push 32bit to its limits (supreme commander) and more similar games are bound to show up eventually.. I have been running Vista 64bit on my desktop without any major issues since launch but my hardware is fairly mainstream, no SLI/Crossfire or RAID or legacy hardware.
-
And crysis will use 64bit as I heard...(as well as 32bit of course)
-
If a company decides for a game to run on specific bits like just 64 bits only. That will make them lose money and loyal fans of a game will get pissed
Plus UT3 won't be on Live for windows =) -

What exactly do you mean by that? Supreme Commander needs 4 GB+ of ram? I don't think so... not yet. I could be mistaken about that, but there isn't some limitation we are approaching with 32 bit systems other than the ram limitation. Although, there are some potential gains to be had from a 64 bit OS. Far Cry ran slightly faster in 64 bit with slightly better visuals, if i recall correctly.
No company is going to do that for quite a long time. As long as they are making games for vista there will be 32 bit game dev support. Most games still have windows XP support, so its not even a question for those games. The question at hand is whether support will be extended to 64 bit operating systems, so as to allow more ram and increase performance for those who can use them. -
Yeah, Supreme Commander doesn't run out of memory but it is hitting the 2gb virtual address space limit of 32bit systems, picking up the largest map, full set of AI enemies will crash the game at some point.
Anand had a nice article about it a while back:

unless your using more than 4GB of ram, you should stick to 32 bit unless you have a specific app that needs or runs significantly better with 64, its going to be awhile before the average user has any TRUE need for a 64 bit OS.
