I tried it and didn't see any noticable boost in Oblivion, but I am using the laptop2go 163.44 drivers so I don't know if the fix will even work with those drivers.

Does the error say that it can't find a compatible graphics card? If so, try laptopvideo2go.

The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.

You shouldn't get that error if you're installing laptopvideo2go drivers with the modded INF file...

And you put the correct INF file in the driver folder? Did you install with the have disk method, or did you use the setup program?

You have to replace the INF file with the modified one and then uninstall the current driver, then update the driver, select you have it on your computer then hit have disk then navigate to the folder and select the inf file. Voila you've got a brand spankin new driver.

You don't really need to uninstall the older drivers either. I never do. And I can OC using the 163.44 with ATItool.

The 163.44 drivers locked my resolution to 4:3 in all games. So I had these ugly black spaces on the sides. Immediately reverted to 158.45.

That's cause it defaults to Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling. Just go into the control panel and change it back to Nvidia scaling.

Im no expert, but its not difficult to see those "ugly black spaces" are not a flaw of the driver... Some people prefer to play their games and movies at the correct aspect ratio regardless of whether their monitor is a widescreen etc...

There is one update currently asking to be installed.
    KB938979

I hope its this update, because I am getting tired of games crashing especially when I exit CS:S, I get the Hl2.exe has crashed...or "the video driver has failed"

I can't use the new RivaTuner with 163.44 drivers. :\

Also, I can't get the update to work, so I don't know if that fixes anything yet or not!
