Hey ya'll,
Here's a pickle. I like to play Oblivion with a trainer running in the background. The problem is, you need to start the game before you start the trainer. So since the windows key doesn't minimize Oblivion as it does on a desktop, I can't activate the trainer program. I'm sure the answer is simple so go easy on me![]()
I guess the question is, does anyone know of another way to minimize Oblivion on a laptop.
Thanks,
-

You may have it disabled within the game. Check the in-game options. Besides that, have you tried alt-tabbing?
-
Yeah Alt-Tabbing makes a blip, but I still can't get out of the game.
-
Anyone happen to know the ~ console command for minimizing?
-
Ermmm...I thought that trainers are to be started before the game.
Question: Are you using the trainers that are the hacked .dll's where you push the insert key to bring up a menu, or is it a generic push keys trainer? -
The trainer I'm using is triggered by Fkeys during gameplay.
-
Hmmm...I've always run the trainer before I've run Oblivion. Have you tried that at all?
-
Oblivion makes it so that normal windows commands don't work, such as Alt-Tab. The easiest way to get the trainer to work is to play Oblivion in windowed mode. It will play with lower frame rates but it will work. Otherwise, you can Ctrl-Alt-Del and bring up the task manager which will also allow you to view your start menu toolbar. However, this can crash Oblivion/your computer.

Alt-tab always was unstable in oblivion. I also was able to do it on my desktop (with 1 Gb RAM) and not on my lappy (1 GB ram). When I added another stick it worked better, but when tabbing in, it became unstable and slow. Oblivion is quite sensitive. What kind of trainer is it?
-
Ctrl-Alt-Del might work, I'll give it a go. I've tried in windowed mode, and still can't get out of the window. I've tried running the trainer before loading up Oblivion but it tells me it won't work unless Oblivion launches first.
Anyways, at the very least, if I need to cheat, I can still use the console cheat commands.
Thanks so much for all you suggestions though gang. + rep to you all. -
Oblivion might be like bf2, where the windows key has no response it game, while ctrl-alt-delete does work
-
if Ctrl Alt Del doesnt work, press Ctrl Esc, or Crtl, Shift, Esc.
-
ctrl alt del is the only way i have found, but it crashes my comp 1 out of 5 times i do it, so only do it if you really have to.

Why would you need a trainer at all? Everything you could possibly do with a trainer in Oblivion you could do through the console.....Alt-tabbing works for me on my desktop, as long as im not in a super intensive area and not paused yet.

All skills 100 with a function key is a lot faster than going: modpcs... and everytime you change your class, you have to do it again!
I know the race trick...save with console open, etc. But the trainer definitely changes time.
Not to mention I've made cheat mods that stop the need to use either. -
Ahh I guess you just play more then I do. I only recently started getting bored with just playing normally hehe.
Windows key not responding during Oblivion.
