So I bought Wings of Prey because of the sale on Steam. Anyway I could go on about the frustration I've had trying to get full access to this game, but I'll leave that for another time. Right now my problem is getting my joystick to function. I have a Logitech attack 3 which is not part of the available device options. I searched how to use my joystick and this is what I came up with on the steam forums.

Joystick support - No worky - Steam Users' Forums

although when I tried it the keymapping part does not work. When I try to map my joystick buttons for fire or anything else nothing happens. It's like pushing the buttons on my logitech attack 3 does not register at all. Can anyone help my situation?

I have the game for the Xbox 360 and that right there is part of the problem. In fact I think the game came out after the 360 version IINM. I couldn't get my joystick to work with it either so I decided to use a 360 controller instead, works like a charm including rumble.

What problems are you having accessing parts of your game? Have you tried Steam support?

yeah it was all vague, I had to try and search then put things together while reading many, many forum discussions. Yet those didn't work so I used trial and error then I finally got the validation key to work, but after getting the validation key to work, when I tried changing my graphics settings it wouldn't let me and said I'd have to go to yuplay to let the site know I had those options available to me, but when it directed me to the site there was no option to let them know, so all the while I'm pulling out my hair trying to figure it out as I look at the time I have left before I have to leave for work. So anyway after clicking on a million fricken buttons I finally click on the right one. Then I have to go to work. I finally get home and I'm up the whole night trying to get this joystick to work now. The XBOX 360 control works but you can't map all the controls to the limited buttons on the xbox controller, and I want to play it in sim mode. So please can someone tell me a fix or why I can't map the buttons on my joystick. I've been up the whole christmas eve and now I'm so tired this christmas day here in hawaii, I'm about to sleep soon. Merry Christmas everyone.

If a 360 controller works, you should be able to use a 360 controller emulator for your joystick and maybe get something that works pretty well.

I have done this with my racing wheel before on some racing games.

I also use a 360 emulator for my PS3 controller so that all games just think its a 360 pad.

yeah thanks for the tip Vicious, I did download the latest software that was compatible with the joystick from the logitech website, and even though it let me make custom profiles Wings of Prey still didn't detect the buttons, I was about to give up and just stick to the arcade mode and use the XBox 360 controller, then it hit me. Could the game be having interference because I had both the Xbox 360 and logitech joystick plugged in the notebook? I thought it wouldn't hurt to try and unplug the Xbox controller, restart the game then try an remap the joystick once again using the keymapping feature. I did and YAYEE! it works, now I just have to get a good layout working with both my Logitech attack 3, and my Belkin Nostromo n52te speed pad. Anyone have such a combination? Or does anyone still use a Nostromo n52t3 speed pad, and uses it for flight sims? let me know what's a good layout for keymapping. And thanks again for the trying to help Viscious.
