Can a wireless 360 controller be hooked up with windows or would I have to buy a wired one? And if yes.. How?

    Thanks in advance.

You'll need a wireless gaming receiver to connect to your PC with a wireless xbox 360 controller. Costs $20.

Any old wired controller will work with plug and play ease though if you want another controller for your 360 anyways. They cost $40.
