Best wireless gaming security settings I have a new WNR1000 (lease from comcast)router and gigabyte ws 30n card
currenty when I game on BF2 or Cod4 i get intermittent lag which is very short and quick but when it happens every minute and I end up running the wrong way or into a wall it does not help my scores... lol
I currently have Wpa2 security and my laptop on my wireless access list

I don't think your security settings have anything to do with the lag. You SHOULD use WPA2 with TKIP or AES encryption. AES is better I believe because it's hardware encryption instead of software.

Not necessarily, if your computer has older wireless adapter that only supports up to WPA, while other computers in the house are at WPA2, wireless router will compensate for the older security standard. But highly unlikely in this case, since all the hardwares are pretty new.
Anyways, your wireless adapter is N standard, while the router is only b/g standard, you might want to go to the wireless router setting and change it to broadcast in "g" standard only.
While you are at it, change the default broadcast channel to either 1, 6, or 11, so other nearby wireless routers won't interfere with your wireless connection.
Update your wireless adapter driver, go to laptop manufacturer website and search for your model.
If using Vista, try WLAN Optimizier

If using XP, disable the default windows zero configuration, and use wireless driver software for future connection. -
Yup but the router is wireless n and i figured it out i had to go to device manager and enable Gaming/Multimedia mode thanks!

How do you enable gaming mode for a network card?

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
i second WZC as likely being the source of the problem.
