Basically the title say it all. But anyways when i play the witcher 2 its alittle choppy in chapter 1 and 2 when im in the forest area. its not noticeable unless you look really hard. the strange thing is even with utra setting and uber samp off with v-sync on im easily hitting the 60 fps in town and like 50+ in the jungle area. Basically im wondering what i can do to get ride of this. Another thing i find strange is that every time i open the game on steam i have to do a netframe work 4 update like wth is that it keeps doing it over and over and then it says after its done i should look if there is another update 0.o? With v-sync off i can easy hit 60+ intown and even in the forests. My card is overclock to 854/2400 and the max temp i got while playing was 67 degrees C

Anyways back to the question basicallt id like only 2gb nvida 680m users to answer this question. im wondering what settings do you have ON in the nvida control panel and be specific and also would you be able to provide what settings you play the witcher 2 on and exactly what you have enabled

There is a dx9 dll that you need to put in your Witcher directory to eliminate the choppiness. Don't have link handy just search for it.

I had this same issue. Just update the drivers and they go away.

I did not have to download the dx9dll and it fixed it. Give it a shot before you waste your time hunting for that dll

Just a while ago I've installed the 306.02 beta, and it did wonders to my Witcher 2. I had that choppiness too at Flotsam forest and 2 other maps, it was choppy though the FPS was still mid/low 40s'. The SSAO was slow to reproduce.. V-sync was on.

This was before a slight disappointment for me reguarding the 680M, ..but I guess now it's just a matter of time 'till we get some nice whql drivers. I gained 4 fps on the "heavy" scenes at 893/1900 OC with the 306 driver compared to 302.22 on the witcher 2.. It's now really smooth playing, incredible. My setting is ubersamp, AA, bloom disabled, 1080p high/ultra, vsync on.

By the way the 306.02 also stopped the stuttering for GTX675M when running The witcher 2 in 1600 x 900 vs 304.79. Completely no hick ups! My RAM'd GTX 680M is arriving either tomorrow or monday, will see if it's the same on my GTX680M :D.

sheesh they sure are taking awhile. I can assure you the stutter will also be gone once you finally get your 680m back!

also if you want to stop the netframe thing each time you log on. Install the GOG version not the steam.

This 306 beta driver is awesome! I want to share this spoiler screen shot and how TW2 feels like BF3, ..smooth even with a light OC.
