    Hello guys,
    first of all my specs:

    DELL XPS 17 FHD(1920x1080 NON 3D)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 3 GB (overclocked)
    Intel i7 2670QM
    8GB of RAM
    SSD

    What I've tried:
Updating video drivers to latest (285.62)
    Applying latest witcher 2 patch
    updating directX
    uninstalling 3D vision

    Problem:
even on lowest settings and 1280x800 resolution it runs really laggy and the game is unplayable.

Can you guys suggest me something, because I read that people run it at medium settings with the same specs?
I think it's problem with configuration, because BF3 runs smoothly with medium-high settings and 1920x1080 resolution.

    Thanks in advance.

The problem is pretty much your graphics card. Even my 470M sometimes struggle when I turn on some of the effects.

It should run quite well at that resolution. I was getting 30-40fps at 720p with the same card and the latest drivers.

getting over 30fps with settings on high at 720p... you should get more

edit - have you set the game to use the NVIDIA card under 3d settings in the nvidia control panel? could be an optimus issue

As I've already stated I'm using latest, 285.62.
No, I did not enable uber sampling (on lowest settings it is disabled), and I've tried various settings.

Which area were you in that has poor fps? Is the fps consistently low or does it fluctuate depending on the places? Also try to configure the settings through the USER.INI file in your bin/config folder, I have heard adjusting settings through the configurator can be glitchy sometimes.

Didnt the latest witcher 2 patch take a big toll on performance? Also it could be an optimus issue, the gt 555m is a capable card (when not in 1080p settings) you try whitelisting it?

Also Battlefield 3 is really optimized and not as graphically intense as the witcher 2

Where did you hear that it takes a toll on performance? The latest patch BOOSTS performance and also removes the DRM that dramatically slows you down.
