I think I have heard people compare a Desktop 260 GTX to the mobile GTX 485M. I am sure some one will correct me if I am wrong.

-
^thanks! but yikes, didn't realize mobile GPUs were that "far behind" since the 485m is the best available isn't it for laptops?
-
Recommended is rarely "high settings" and never "very high or ultra".
But ye its good to know that entry level is kinda low.. on the other hand 8800 desktop =/= 8800 mobile so thats another thing to keep in mind.
And last thing you sure they are speaking about full hd and above?
so ye. -

So I just came on this youtube link. Guy says he was running a GTX 590 on Ultra @ 1920 x 1080. Game and video looks pretty amazing, graphics quality-wise...

Note that the above youtube video was using fraps to record which caused a little slow down.

It's out either tomorrow or the day after, early adopters can let us know what the experience is like. A shame I won't touch this game (along with Shogun 2) until October at the earliest.
-
No, it's out on 17th. 10th is when Gog starts taking money and giving pre-loads.
-
Thanks for the correction, it's only a week away then and there'll be plenty of early impressions on the mainstream gaming review sites before long.

Wied?min 2: Zabójcy Królów ? recenzja. Pierwsza na ?wiecie! / CD-Action - there is not much about the requirements , but I think you will be interested in

I am glad they bring back the fistfight from the original witcher, although it was too easy in the first and now it seems a lot more challenging! Not 100% positive about this, but I have heard you can import saves from the original witcher to witcher 2, which means the decisions you made in the first game consequently affect witcher2's world.
The gorgeous looking graphics comes with a hefty requirement, I don't think my puny 9800M gs will be able to handle this in good detailsPeople with 485M/6970 will probably have a good chance playing the game on high at 1080p, ultra settings at 1080p seem to be out of reach for mobile cards, sad....

Just wish its long enough with interesting story line.
Started to play Mass effect 2 recently and sometimes i just feel like watching a movie waiting for a storyline to reveal itself further on (which is quite fun). Gameplay itself is not only easy, its nothing for a counter-strike veteran -

So even if I put it on 'Easy', I guess it'd be crazy for me to attempt an entire playthrough of The Witcher, before 2 comes out.

Mr_Mysterious Like...duuuuuude
I'd be happy if my 460M could play this game on 720p medium details
I gotta play the first witcher game first though!

So far, I've been able to just install anything I'd want to on my desktop and crank the settings to max, including Crysis 2 a couple days ago (steady 45-60 fps). Hopefully this will be no different, though I think I'll play through Witcher 1 first and wait for this to go on sale.
Medium/low on the laptop is fine, I didn't buy it to max anything out anyways (except Halo 1 lol). That's what the desktop is for. -
I have started playing the first witcher and note the pros and cons. However, seeing how much of the cons they have fixed in the sequel makes me feel like skipping the first one altogether. I remember a similar view expressed when comparing Assassins Creed 1 to its sequel. I might play through the first one on easy though.

wow 16gb!!!
get out.. -
-
its kinda frustrating that people who didnt actually preorder already downloaded witcher2 from torrents and playing. Thx dear devs.
-
Don't believe it. It's probably Russian and not cracked.
-
my friend is sharing his screen with skype while mocking me.
its in english and cracked >< -
All we can do is purchase the game and offer the devs our support. We can't do anything about the illegal downloaders so all of our effort should be placed on what we can control i.e our own purchase. I am not suggesting this by the way, but I know of some who have purchased two copies of TW2. I have already pre ordered a copy on Steam and regardless of the pirates, I am sure they will get great sales.
-
I just bought Witcher 1 for $5. My pirating ways have largely ended once I discovered Steam sales and other massive discounts from around the internets.

How on earth could they download it before it is out
-
1. One of the workers from distributor warehouse steals the copy and upload it on internet
2. Store employee steals the copy and upload it
3. An employee at CD Projekt studio upload the game (which is highly doubtful, but still is a possibility) -
why they are not shipping yet then if its all on their warehouse
or allowing direct download from their site even -
