    Witcher 2-Installation issues

    Whoosh. I was rather pumped to be able to play TW2 this weekend after seeing how handily the 6990m was playing Metro 2033. After trying to install it for the 3rd time now, and failing to be able to even load the launcher, I am rather disappointed. Any chance for some good old community help?

    You can see my specs below. I'm trying to install it to the HDD, my documents moved to that one as well if it matters. It installs every time, seemingly without fail, and closes the installer. I then go to Start -> Start the Witcher 2. No response. Open up to the directory, choose "launcher.exe", no response. I registered the product. The configurator seems to work, but the launcher is simply not a go. I downloaded the 1.2 patch and tried to install it, but was told the game was either corrupt or not fully installed.

    Antivirus is simply Microsoft Security Essentials and doesn't appear to be picking up or blocking anything during the installation. That one got me good on Dragon Age 2. ;P

    is this the retail version via dvd or did you get it from steam/direct2drive etc?

    I've got my shortcut pointing to the launcher (i.e., on my computer its "D:\The Witcher 2 install\launcher.exe")

    There's also a 2.0 patch available now, so you might want to try that.

    Get that game working because its one of the best games i've played this year

    Hmm thats an interesting problem.. But if you do get it to work, its def one of the best games I've played all year also
