With this laptop, will I be able to record TF2 with FRAPS at a decent framerate?

Don't even do that, just record a demo and convert it to AVI afterwards.

    x_x lol @ the maybe's...

does anyone know for sure? It's not about the actual recording of the demo, I just want to know if it will be powerful enough to do so with just FRAPS.

nope, .dem is not a movie format, and cannot just be converted into a movie..

Keep in mind that fraps usually records with 25 fps because videos usually go with 25 fps... I dont get this, is it your way of telling if a PC is good? By testing if it can record with fraps while still being playable?

I can't record at a decent frame rate on my laptop (considering I set FRAPS to 60 FPS).

Your laptop probably won't be able to at all.

I think what would be best is if someone with similar specs could try it out to confirm. I don't play TF2, but I do own it, so maybe I'll give it a try. If my PC can do it, then most definitely yours can.

My system is in my sig, but just for farts and giggles: Intel Core 2 Duo P9700 2.8GHz, GTX 260m 1024MB, 4GB DDR3 1066MHz, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, 15.4" 1680x1050, Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I'll run at 1280x800 to be similar to your resolution.

Some of it may depend on the I/O speeds to and from the HDD.

edit: ninja'd! But I'll give it a go at 30fps anyhow.
