Hey all,
Not sure how many are interested but Gamestop says release date is 12/7/10
I've got collectors on pre-order, it'll probably be my last go around with WoW but since some friends and family still play I figured why not.

I didn't play much of WotLK but I will be playing Cata for the sole purpose of rated BG's. My funnest time in WoW was in Vanilla where we'd have AB/WSG games (both premades). I really miss the 'epic' feeling of that game; hopefully Cata will bring it back.
I'm going to have to figure out what class/spec to play b/c they butchered Retribution so bad that it's back to "LOLRET". With cleanse removed, they're getting owned by everything in BETA. I was thinking Discipline Priest, since they've been excellent for the last few years. -

Battlegrounds ruined the game for me I liked the real world of warcraft where at random a huge enemy force would run into your town and kill everybody and everything.
That is how a real war would be, not some preordained premeditated combat area like batttlegrounds. -
cool, I have WOTLK but never got a chance to play it yet, lol! Still need a new m11x...facepalm...but heres to smooth release of cata and more googd times in wow!
-
Ah, those were the days
I've always been a big fan of premade BG's, though. Found it always quite challenging. What I do hate is Arena (even though I was successful in it).
Hopefully Cata will resurrect the neglected PVP system of WotLK. I'd love for gigantic world PVP battles to return, that's for sure, because Wintergrasp, at least on my server, is 100% win victory every time I play, which isn't slightly fun, since you know you're going to win every battle -
Ya I too never really liked arena much, if this expansion improves PVP as much as i'm hoping my Rogue will see far more use. Right now he's got virtually everything possible without rated arena play. World PVP was fun, stranglethorn vale was always interesting to navigate, and who didn't love TM vs Southshore
Are they really nerfing pallies that bad voodooi? Hope they don't change my sublety/shadow step build, its so much fun -
Vanilla or bust.
-
I remember in wow vanilla beta a bunch of level 16-20's raided auberdine or whatever the first night elf village was called. That was a good time. Level 10 druid vs level 20 horde lol.
-
Im loving the new WoW Cataclysm beta. ;D
Dont want to spoil any fun but theres a great quest line in Redridge Mountains. -
-
i like the timing of the release date. Means I wont lose time from exams and such, and I'll be playing it as soon as the holidays come around.

I too enjoy premades in BG!! I hear that Boomkins are finally getting solid upgrades to make them OP. All I can say is ABOUT FRIGGIN TIME! My Druid Cutt will PWN
-
Bring it.... between SC2 and WOW Cataclysm im probably booked for all 2011
, gona be sweet one the G73.
-
Don't forget Diablo! -
Diablo 3!
Seeing as FFXIV has been a flop, i'm pretty excited now for WoW. Blizz is on top with SC2, WoW, and soon Diablo. -
Right now, the top classes in Cata are Mages, Warlocks and Shamans. Worst are Paladins and Druids. I'm hoping they'll all be balanced by release b/c there's no way in hell I'm playing an "LOLRET" for a full expansion like I did in BC
Agreed on the release date being pretty damn good. I think I'll be on my last exam by that time. I remember the last xpack that came out, I pulled a 12hr+ marathon while our GM stayed up for 2-3 days straight ...lol. Thankfully I haven't been glued to a game that long in years -
yea, but i dont think its gona come early though, my guess is probably we will see beta around mid 2011 and game release before years end, but this would be perfect, by that time Cataclysm will be losing hype and SC2 will be wating for the expansion, so something to fill time

blah... dunno about this...
10 man raiding pretty much destroyed all the real raiding guilds and communities...
hard to get attendance in 25 mans... and everyone resorting to finding 9 other friends to raid with... -
Luckily WoW is no longer addictive (at least for me). Since I stopped raiding, I lost almost 40LBS and 4" off the waist (now a 32"/175LBS).
WoW in small moderation FTW ...I can't say the same for most of my guild, though
I've been hiding my WoW play from strangers IRL (class mates/work) because most of the people I've met IRL that do play look like they've been sleeping outside in a box for weeks and forgot where their shower was
There was two overweight guys in our school cafeteria last year who were role-playing WoW scenarios publicly. A guy would jump up in the air and scream: "Crusader Strike" followed by: "NO NO, you're dead, I did 3500 damage", and they proceeded to argue for 5 minutes. I don't want to be associated with that, no thanks LOL
I'd say 1 in 10 WoW players I've met/seen IRL look normal and talk normal, though lol -
i do recall, a boy survived a potential bear attack by using the skills he learned from his huntard... FD...
lucky to say, despite many immature folks i've ran across... i've actually came out with a couple of good friends i keep in touch... professionals... -
People still play this shallow excuse for a MMO
, so uninspiring.
-
last i recall... blizzard collects about $13 per account per month for 12 million subscribers...
i don't know how accurate that is... but hell, i would not mind getting, even a fraction of the income of this "shallow excuse of a MMO" as you so lightly put it...
yea, game is blah... but hell, they are doing something right to keep this going...
um $8,112,000,000 per year? wow... -
Because the servers and the people work for free right ?
Think their profit is around 2bil per year, not like thats a small amount -
Just imagine how many chocolate chip cookies 2 billion could buy... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Nah, i think they are investing the money on the new mmo they are working on, some of them atleast
-
well, that's a lot of chocolate chips fosure!
-
Yeah I'd be 100kg's overweight in no time, I have no self control when it comes to cookies... I once stocked up on cookies, figured it would last me for a month. I ate them ALL in 2 days
