Currently get very low fps (~5) while playing and I'm not quite sure why, any help on how to improve it would be greatly appreciated.

    System specs:
    Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop
    Windows XP
    1534MB RAM
    Pentium 4 2.40 GHz
    Intel 82845G Graphics Controller

    Resolution? Settings?
Are you plugged in when gaming? How much shared RAM is set for your IGP?
Have you tried updating your drivers?

I used to have the 845 on a laptop as well. WoW should be playable at lower settings, as I used to play Guild Wars on 800x600 low settings.

Currently using 800x600 and all settings are tuned for performance in game. Drivers are updated and I'm plugged in.

Don't know how much shared RAM is set for my IGP or how to find that out.

I would turn all the settings down/off. Set the resolution to 640x480 or so. Less if possible.

    Start there.

Video Options in game would only let me turn it down to 800x600 and framerate was still poor then.

    look for IGP memory allotment.

I think you'll find this in the bios. set it as high as physically possible.

Excuse me...I should have looked first.

It auto-adjusts video memory - up to 64MB if you have more than 256MB system memory.

This kinda screws with you though. Since the system itself adjusts the memory, I can only suggest, as others have, to further lower the resolution in WoW and decrease/disable all video options.

Just to eliminate a non video card issue...

Have you tried running the repair program for WoW; perhaps you have a problem there. I had performance issues and after running it, my problem was more or less resolved.

My video card is SUPER ancient and I get better frame rates than that

is it a super ancient dedicated video card? it may just be a league ahead of an ancient intel integrated chip.

A Radeon M7500c w/32mb. His could be worse (performance wise) than mine, I did not check. I dangerously assumed that nobody had crappier hardware than me :)

Trust us, anything ATI or Nvidia integrated is light years ahead of any Intel integrated graphics.
