To my knowledge World of Warcraft does not work with either SLI or Crossfire setups. D:
Also i would rather get a fast SSD drive than to pay the premium of getting a Intel Core i7 2820QM.
But this is my opinion, looking forward to hear what the other NBR members have to say.
(Also i have not played WoW active since pre TBC so they could have changed the SLI / Crossfire stuff. -
I use this laptop to play WoW and it plays on all highest settings, although the water doesn't show up on high or ultra for some reason...:/ But otherwise plays well.

Haha no water that could be a big problem for me lol! i 've decided to get a M11x Alienware for like 1,700
-
I hope that price is not in usd. I also hope you realize the water issue is software based and also affects the m11x.
-
$1700? For an M11x? That's absurd. And M11x won't max out WoW either. For that money if you want Alienware, get the M14x.
-
for reference, I play WoW on an m17x R1 with 2 ati 3870s.
at the time, 2 years ago, it was a rockin machine, and for WoW, still is. 80-100 FPS in everything but a 25man instance, where it may drop to 30 FPS periodically, all of this at 1920X1200.
My hunch is that anything Alienware puts out today will run WoW perfectly.
about the "can;t see water" issue, I have no clue. Water seems pretty on my machine.
Other new games... perhaps not. -

Looks like a good spec. Not sure how competitively you play, but for me HD speed was important for how fast you loaded in. Aftermarket SSD might be helpful down the line if you find that's the case for you as well.
-
Yes Augusta i do realize this and i hope ya'll realize this thread is for WoW specs and builds not criticism on what i've decided to get.
-
Can you post the specs for that m11x? The price seemed ridiculously high.

In my sig was 1600 on sale from dell in may 2010, then upgraded to 5870 for $300. total: $1800 for an astounding 60 fps in wow at 1080p with all maxed graphics and 4x msaa most of the time... sometimes it drops into like the 30s... you know wow. when I read what laptop you were getting, an M18x, for wow... i read it 5 more times. Whatever is the most intense 25 man raid I have ever played would get 200 fps on that rig. get crysis 1 to play.
