I keep getting this msg from the updater when downloading a patch:

The file "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\World of Warcraft\World of Warcraft.lnk.Temporary" could not be created. If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (InstallerFile::Create)

    What could this be?
I have uninstalled it twice, this game racks up some time when installing lol.
I hope vista doesnt have something to do with this.

After reading some i have a question. Could anti virus or a firewall stop the uploader from creating a temporary file?
Has anyone ever had that error msg, or could someone explain it to me?
    Thx in advance!

    Hello,

Happen to me when ever I reformat my hard drive. I usually turn off my firewall then install WoW. If I don't it will pause for a very long time.

Why not just download the patch from a website like filefront.com?
    That's what I did when I played.

Unfortunately it does have everything to do with Vista, fortunately there is a fix.

From the start icon (on your desktop most likely), right click it.

    Select run as administrator.

    Proceed happily and error free.

It is odd, I know, but that is what I did and the problem went away.

Btw, solution comes from WoW Vista Support Forum.
