Ok I had World of Warcraft installed on my PC. Then i went out and got a laptop for work and decided to put it on that. I installed everything on my laptop but when i go to log on and patch it, it says Failed to apply patch. Please try again later. If the problem presists you may need to reinstall on contact technical support. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it a couple times and that hasn't worked. Any advice would be appreciated. It worked fine on my PC.

Are you using the disks to install? Are you using Vista?

In either case, I've had a similar issue where I had to redownload the game files entirely off of worldofwarcraft.com

As for updating, I had to give all the WoW.exe files administrator rights by right clicking properties and going to the compatibility tab.

You know.... You can just copy your "World of Warcraft" folder on the machine that it runs good on. And copy it your other machine. I have my WoW folder, with all my mods, settings etc.... Backed up on a external.

Also it works no problem going from XP to Vista or vice-versa.

Damn I am on a roll tonight! ;)

I had a problem for a while where the patches wouldn't work right on my Vista comp but they installed fine on my brother's XP machine. Not sure why but it seemed to work better if I ran it as administrator instead of just running it normal. But yeah like Tusin said if you have all the patches on your other computer and you already have it installed on your laptop I would just use a flash drive and move the patches over, then just click and install them (they work as an application and I don't think you have to be connected to the internet, make sure you do them in order though not sure what would happen if you didn't)

What I suggested, is take the entire WoW folder from your XP machine and copy it to your Vista machine. If your XP machine is all patched up and good to go. You won't have to do anything on your vista machine other then double-click on WoW.exe :)
