Hey guys, I've got several questons about WoW.

I've been trying out the free trial demo and I love the game, but I'm have a couple issues.

Issue 1: There seems to be some delay in the actions, I've yet to determine whether this is a problem with my hardware(I don't have enough power) or my connection is too slow. When I click on an NPC I don't get a responce. The NPC says something(audio) but nothing pops up on screen. I can't buy or sell or even get new quests.

    My system:
    Toshiba
    1.6 Celeron M
1300 GB RAM (somewhere in that area)
    128 MB ATI Radeon X200M
    5400 RPM HD

    My Internet connection:
    56k modem I connect at 29.2k regularly.

My latency in the game stays at 800+ it's mostly red.

My first question is this: Is the lag because of my system or my internet connection.

Issue 2: My video card can go up 256MB shared. I currently have it set on 128(system default). My question is should I allocate the other 128 and get 256 or would it be better to leave that 128 to my RAM? (Video game wise.)

Issue 3: Since my dial up connection is so slow, and I live out in the country so I can't get cable or wireless. My only choices are DirecWay Satellite or 128KB ISDN. I hear Satellite isn't good for gaming and the ISDN is alot cheaper so I'm kind of leaning towards it. What do you guys think?

600+ to install DirecWay 200+ to install 128kbps ISDN
    60 a month on both.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to bed now.

Well, I can assure you that the biggest bottleneck to you right now is your abysmal internet connection. Dial-up for WoW? Never going to be playable. DirecWay would be faster, but satellite internet does have high ping problems and...$600 to install it? Cowabunga. I'm not an expert on ISDN (as in, I barely know what it is), so you'll have to wait for other advice there.

Also, I assume you have ~1500 MB of system RAM (-128MB shared already)? Then sharing a full 256MB with your x200M is a sound idea. And if you have 1300 GB of system RAM, get a 64-bit processor, man! ;)
